Thank you test knitters for all for your help.
Feedback on the bonnet has been coming in. It’s fascinating. Everyone sees the pattern very differently, largely depending on their preferences for either the charts or the text. Just about everyone picked up on something different and pertinent, for which I am grateful. Most of details weren’t exactly wrong but could be tweaked for greater clarity. I had thought the pattern was pretty close to OK, but this feedback will make it even better.
I prefer to collect the various comments as printed emails and then review them all at one time, rather than in dribs and drabs. This way I can really get into the pattern and think carefully. It’s all too easy to ‘correct’ a pattern so that it becomes wrong!
The pace of my blog writing has lagged behind the actual pattern, which is now released. Thanks to digital patterns purchased on my site, Ravelery, or Patternfish, should it be necessary further edits can be made in the future and the already purchased patterns update but I think we a good for now. The edit date for my patterns is the very last line on the front page.
Since then bonnets have been taken to Tancook Island for our Supermodel to wear and Hillary to photograph and we have opened the one remaining unfinished section of the website – Kits and we now can offer bonnet kits. The range of available colours will expand as samples are made and photographed. It’s a slow process!
