I’ve measured twice and twice again. Determined the appropriate thickness of the finished tile to mix nicely with the pebbles (I hope).
Gradually I’ve been developing a possible list of subjects for each tile:
Dragon scene?? behind the sink
Bees, dragonflies, bugs
Then I made a road trip down to Annapolis Royal to try and get the colours right – it’s a fair hike even in a car. I’m more amused as a passenger than as a driver! There are some wonderful artists in town another of my favourites is Rion Microys
“good colors for Lucy:
lime green, oranges, yellows, blues, turquoises, purple, pink,
good combos : orange/pink , orange /green, purple/green (lime), blue/green
not red and black. easy on the red. almost no white, no white in background
spring green – keep it bright
borders are good.
one tile should be bees on royal blue.
one should be an orange octopus with green background
one should be peony on red background
other good animals – raccoon, cardinal, goldfinch, cat
happy stitch on tiny tiles or in borders”
This was Deb’s distillation of my requests! Sounds good to me. Now I anxiously wait.
